Arielle's Disney College Program

I had such an amazing experience during my internship at Disney World in the College Program that I decided to share my favorite pictures, videos, quotes and songs with my fellow Disney Lovers.

What is Disney looking for?

Hi! Do you mean in college program interns? I think I tried to answer a question like this a little while back, but I’d have to say that I think they are looking for ambitious, friendly, hard-working college students who aren’t afraid of living on their own. This program is so much fun, so it’s tempting to forget the reason that you’re there… to work. They need kids who are responsible and genuinely want to help keep the Disney magic alive. Hope that was some help! Have a magical day! :)

Hi I see you used to do Showkeeping at DHS! I'm about to be a management intern there starting in June. I've been in Attractions for 2 years so switching to custodial will be a big change of pace but I'm excited. I wanted to hear from some cast members about what they enjoyed most about their custodial role in that area. Also, what your definition of a good custodial manager is. :) Thanks! -Lexi

Hi Lexi! First off, congrats on the internship! You’re going to LOVE being a Showkeeper, I know I did! I loved the freedom and respect that our leaders gave us as SK’s. They always recognized the hard work and effort that we put in each day with GSF cards. It made us feel appreciated and we felt like equals. We all became a family so quickly and helped each other out every chance that we could. I really cared for my SK leaders last year, they were very cheerful and willing to help, it never felt like they were out to get us. I think that’s what a good Showkeeping manager is, I guess. I really hope that answered your question—Have A Magical Day! :)

I just read through your entire blog and loved it! I'm an Arielle too, and am currently doing the Professional Internship at Animal Kingdom. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time down here, I'm living it up now before it ends in July.

That’s awesome! And Thank you for reading it! I love how many Ariel and Arielle’s there are in the program—Hilarious! :D Hope the rest of your program is super magical!

I was just wondering, what face characters are there within the park other than the obvious (princesses/villains/etc.)?

Hi there! Well I haven’t been there since May, but when I was there they had Peter Pan, Wendy, all of the Fairies from Pixie Hollow, Cinderella’s Stepmother and her ugly stepsisters, Mary Poppins and Bert, Alice, Mad Hatter, and I heard that they’re bringing in Merida from BRAVE! Hope that’s some help! Have A Magical Day! :)

Everyone needs to watch this video that Kenny made about the Disney College Program! It is the best behind-the-scenes look at what we do during our program and it’s very informative! Props to him and the video quality, it’s amazing! Check it out! :D

I applied to the fall program as well! My phone interview was last Tuesday. I've been having horrible nightmares about not being accepted. My friend got her email accepting her three days after her interview and I'm still waiting... is that a bad sign? I'm so nervous I can't stop checking my email!!

Oh dear, there’s no need to feel so nervous! It took 2 weeks for me to hear back and I’ve done the program before. I think it all depends on what role you’ve applied for and how many people have also applied… but I’m not quite sure! My other friend had to wait over 3 weeks! I know how you feel though, the wait is the worst part! I think it all just depends, but if you feel ok about the interview, then you’ve got it in the bag, don’t fret! :) Good luck and have a magical day

MAKING NEW FRIENDS! I loved making new friends and traveling the parks together! This is me and one of good friends Brandon strolling around Animal Kingdom! We met in our Disney classes and he liked to tag along with me and the girls on our Typhoon Fridays! He was a blast and I can’t wait to see him again this Fall—He’s doing another program too! :)
